Fitting Snow Chains is easy once you have had a few practice runs in normal
conditions. Don’t leave it until you need them to try fitting them for the first
time!

Modern chains can be fitted with the car stationary, and wheels on the
ground, (eg, it wont matter if you can’t drive your car forward when you do
actually come to fit them for real).

Remember, the chains should be fitted to the Driving Wheels of your car,
for example if your car is front wheel drive you will fit them to the front
wheels. On a 4×4, you only need fit them to the front steering wheels of the
car.

Making sure it is safe to do so, and if fitting your snow chains by the
roadside, especially in poor light, ensure you are wearing high-visibility
clothing and switch on your hazard lights.

Unfold the chains. You will see a plastic ring that is separated at the
top. Pass this behind the wheel, making sure it is not caught on any part of
the vehicles mechanics or trim – and pull it up so it sits flush on the rear
face of the wheel. Rotate it so you can fasten the two halves together.

Pass the chains over the tyre so they rest on the front face of the wheel
- and distribute evenly over all the tyre as typical in images of snow
chains.

Fasten the chains together using the clip included.

The main tension strap comes across the very face of the wheel, loops
through the indicated hoop on the chains and then fastens back to the
chains. Adjust as required to ensure chains are secure and tight.

Repeat for the other side.

Drive vehicle a short distance, then check tension and adjust if required.

Remember, Snow Chains should only be used at very slow speed and removed
once clear of snow.

Most people don’t consider buying snow chains until its too late; When stuck in a blizzard driving home from work to be with your children on Christmas Eve. When trapped on a country lane on your way to visit elderly or sick friends or family. When you cant get out of your drive at home to get to the shops for urgent supplies.

When Snow Chains are so easy to buy online, there is no excuse to be in any of these situations.

Snow Chains are used for driving on Snow and required for driving in Ski Resorts in Europe and essential for driving in the UK during winter months. Carrying a set of Snow Chains in your car will ensure you are never stranded if driving in blizzard or wintry conditions and a must have car accessory if you need to stay mobile during a cold …spell.

Made from tough steel links, they fit over either your front or rear wheels depending on if your car is a front or rear wheel drive car, (if you have a 4×4 they should be fitted to your front steering wheels).

Different part numbers are supplied for different sized tyres, so its important you note the correct tyre size for the tyres you will be fitting the Snow Chains to before ordering.

Fitting is easy once you have practiced a couple of times in normal conditions – and can be installed with your car parked, and wheels on the ground. All Snow Chains are fitted with a storage bag and fitting instructions.

Remember, Snow Chains can only be used for driving on snow, and at slow speed. They should never be used for driving in normal conditions, at speed.
